Student Activities

From studying abroad to celebrating with your classmates, Sandburg offers a wide array of activities and organizations for all students. Blow off some steam during our Fall Festival, October Bash and Spring Fest events, and be sure to get involved in one of our many campus clubs such as Student Ambassadors, Student Government Association, Art Club, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Men of Distinction/Women of Character and more. You can even expand your worldview in places like the England, Ireland, Austria, Spain and France as part of our study abroad opportunities.

Students can get involved in a variety activities from the very start of their Sandburg experience. Each semester, we have a full calendar of events that range from campus-wide festivals, to guest speakers and workshops, to finals week stress relief activities, and much more in between.

For the beginning of the year, we have the Fall Fest and October Bash. And the student ambassadors help organize all those events that go on.

Just being involved in so many facets of student life out here, being able to participate in the student ambassador program, as well as student government, and just my roles on campus, being on the giving end of the academic advising is extremely rewarding. I've had my students come up to me, and they're very grateful. And they really express that. I really feel like I'm making a difference.

The reason I like these events is because all the clubs and organizations, they kind of set up their own table. New students can come, check them out, and see what stuff they've done, see if they want to get involved. There are a lot of study abroad opportunities for students here at Sandburg. They do a trip every year for spring break. A recent group went to Italy.

And students can choose how involved they want to be, either by going to monthly meetings, or going to a couple lunch-time events, or even running for an officer position with Student Government Association.
